জাহাঙ্গীরনগর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক ড. মো. নূরুল ইসলামের সঙ্গে বাংলাদেশে নিযুক্ত যুক্তরাষ্ট্র দূতাবাসের পাবলিক এ্যানগেইজমেন্ট বিভাগের পরিচালক স্কট হার্টম্যানের নেতৃত্বে একটি প্রতিনিধিদল সৌজন্য সাক্ষাৎ করে। আজ সকাল দশটায় উপাচার্য কার্যালয়ে এ সৌজন্য সাক্ষাৎকালে অন্যান্যের মধ্যে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উপ-উপাচার্য (শিক্ষা) অধ্যাপক ড. মো. শামছুল আলম, উপ-উপাচার্য (প্রশাসন) অধ্যাপক ড. মুহম্মদ নজরুল ইসলাম, যুক্তরাষ্ট্র দূতাবাসের পাবলিক এ্যানগেইজমেন্ট বিভাগের উপ-পরিচালক রিচার্ড ব্রুনার, বিশেষজ্ঞ রায়হানা সুলতানা, এডুকেশন আউটরিচ কো-অর্ডিনেটর গুলশান জারিন আলম, প্রেস এ্যান্ড মিডিয়া কো-অর্ডিনেটর তরিকুল ইসলাম নাহিন, জাহাঙ্গীরনগর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ইংরেজি বিভাগের সহকারী অধ্যাপক মো. তকী ইয়াসির উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

সৌজন্য সাক্ষাৎকালে যুক্তরাষ্ট্র দূতাবাসের প্রতিনিধিদল জাহাঙ্গীরনগর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সঙ্গে যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের বিভিন্ন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষক-শিক্ষার্থী বিনিময়, যৌথভাবে ডিগ্রি সম্পন্ন, এ্যাকাডেমিকস ও পেশাজীবিদের জন্য যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের বিভিন্ন প্রোগ্রামে অংশগ্রহণ প্রভৃতি বিষয়ে আলোচনা করেন। প্রতিনিধিদল বাংলাদেশের শিক্ষা কারিকুলাম উন্নয়নের যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের বিভিন্ন ভূমিকার কথা তুলে ধরেন।

উপাচার্য প্রতিনিধিদলকে তাদের আগ্রহের জন্য ধন্যবাদ জানান । এ ছাড়া প্রতিনিধিদল আজ জাহাঙ্গীরনগর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ইংরেজি বিভাগে ফাউন্ডার্স মিউজিয়ামের উদ্বোধনসহ বিভিন্ন অনুষ্ঠান ও কার্যক্রমে অংশগ্রহণ করেন।

U.S. Embassy Delegation Calls on Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Nurul Islam

A U.S. Embassy delegation, led by Director of Public Engagement Scott Hartmann, paid a courtesy call on Jahangirnagar University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Nurul Islam today at 10:00 a.m. at the Vice Chancellor’s office.

The meeting was attended by key university leadership, including Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Professor Dr. Md. Shamsul Alam and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr. Muhammad Nazrul Islam, alongside Assistant Professor Md. Taqi Yasir from the Department of English. The U.S. Embassy was further represented by Deputy Director of Public Engagement Richard Bruner, Public Engagement Specialist Raihana Sultana, Education Outreach Coordinator Gulshan Zareen Alam, and Press and Media Coordinator Tariqul Islam Nahin.

During the meeting, the delegation and university leadership engaged in a productive dialogue regarding collaborative academic opportunities. Discussions focused on facilitating faculty and student exchange programs between Jahangirnagar University and American institutions, establishing joint degree programs, and expanding opportunities for academics and professionals to participate in U.S.-sponsored programs. The U.S. delegates also highlighted their ongoing contributions and initiatives to support the development of Bangladesh’s educational curriculum.

Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Nurul Islam expressed his sincere gratitude to the delegation for their keen interest and continued partnership. The dialogue also touched upon the day’s broader itinerary on campus, particularly the formal inauguration of the Founders Museum at the Department of English and the other interactive events and activities scheduled throughout the day.
